Celebrating Special Days

October 18th, 2006 by Baby Universe

Special times in your life can pass so quickly and often they have passed us by before we know it. Immortalising a moment in time is a fabulous way of capturing that occasion.

Here are some ideas on keeping those memories going forever.

  • Store away those special little items such as ultrasound pics, hospital tags, cards etc. and start scrapbooking. It’s a wonderful journey.
  • As soon as you find out your pregnant, get a beautiful length of cord and measure around your belly. Tie a knot. Then every week or two, measure again, each time tieing a knot. By 38 – 42 weeks you will be amazed how your belly has grown.
  • Do the same with a bead. For every day of your pregnancy, buy a little bead and thread on to cord. By your due date, you will have a gorgeous necklace that your can cherish forever.
  • Don’t forget to start a journal of the pregnancy and beyond.
  • At the end of your pregnancy, stand as a profile against a door or wall and shine a light on your pregnant shape. Have someone trace around your silhouette.
  • Always take lots of photos and video where possible.
  • Make a pregnant belly cast and capture that shape in 3 dimensional form.
  • When the little one is born, make an imprint of their little hands and feet or have a professional cast made out of plaster.

Good luck on your pregnancy journey.
